What's OnEvents Calendar
Events, Meetings & Days Out
Meetings are informative, mostly related to the concerns and interests of the Society. These include such aspects as heritage conservation of buildings, environmental topics, architectural design and numerous local issues and interests as they arise.
We also visit places of relevant interest both within the town and occasionally further afield, often working in conjunction with other Civic Societies, North West Association of Civic Trusts and Societies (NWACTS), a regional organisation or our national body, Civic Voice.
During winter months, meetings are held in the Clifton Arms Hotel at Lytham with more active events and outings during the Summer months.
Not To Be Missed
The Annual General Meeting is held in September with the business part of the meeting followed by an open discussion with the Chair giving an overview of the previous year’s activities in her report, and an updating of events to come.
The national Heritage Open Days event is held in September and is an important date in our calendar.
The Civic Voice Annual Convention and AGM will be held this year in Birmingham. There will be interesting talks and visits available to attendees. Further information is available on the Civic Voice website. We really encourage you to join us this year as Birmingham is easy to get to on the train. Full particulars of this can be given if you contact Marion Coupe, who will be going. You can go for one of the days or stay overnight and we will all hope to stay together in the same hotel. We have agreed to pay a subsidy for members to attend of £20 per person towards the conference fee. See www.civicvoiceconference.com.
